The house isconceived as “a burrow, a hiding place, a refuge” and this elevation of the cave is at the origin of critical thinking about modernity.
“Modern Architecture has forgottenthe importance of intimacy and fallen into exhibitionism. Large windows set in imsy walls, facing nowhere, but showing everything. The highlighted space takes away all mystery. “Lamadriguera” (the burrow) is aimed at restoring the essence of the home, emphasising the importance of theintrovert over the extrovert”.
In other projects, such as those by BUEROWAGNER or DAVID LEECH, the intimacy of the private space is merged with the extension of the interior space towards the exterior, while establishingan indissociable, playful link betweenthe home and nature.
