Paper Pavilion is designed with upcycled papers, proposing a new sustainable design method of “appropriate durability”; not to set up excessive architectural strength to ashort-time used pavilion but rather constructwith appropriate materials that only last for duration of its life span. The project is deve-loped under a line of our hypothetical conceptof Rootless Architecture that we integrated Danish playfulness with Japanese tradition.The approach led us consider paper as poten-tial material which evolved into a completelynew design method responding urban issuesof today.
