The Distillery is a cultural venue to inspire creative confrontation and support innovative ideas. Originally a distillate factory, the project is the first prototype of Social Reactor, KOGAA’ s slow development lab tackling the problematic of inactive structures and their adaptation into substitute functions. Within the context of a post-industrial city, The Distillery is a representative example of how a vacant property can become a vibrant location, playing an active role on the urban and economic transformation of the surrounding neighborhood and life of the city.
The Distillery - Social Reactor je námi iniciovaný projekt konverze již nevyužívaného lihovaru v multifunkční centrum, které slouží jako místo pro coworking, nabízí sdílené kanceláře a studia a také prostory pro pořádání kulturních a vzdělávacích akcí. Jde o první prototyp vzniklý pod hlavičkou Social Reactor, platformy pomalého rozvoje neaktivních míst ve městě, která tento typ míst pomáhá adaptovat na nové funkce. Budova bývalého lihovaru prochází neustálým procesem renovace, čímž se přizpůsobuje potřebám místní komunity a nájemců.
