Three massive stone volumes surmounted by a roof. Refering to the dolmens and to the materiality of the Church of Cabrières, the sociocultural centre sets into a very customed place : a junction between the midst of town and the cemetery, petanque courts on its East side…
The project shows respect through its materials : local stone for walls, wood for the roof, and cork for the insulation.
The building welcomes its users on the East facade, facing the petanque courts, and opens widely on its south side, on a new public space close to the play area, then permitting the evolution of uses.
Trois volumes massifs en pierre surmontés d’une toiture. En référence aux dolmens et à la matérialité de l’église de Cabrières, le centre socio-culturel s’inscrit dans un environnement riches d’usages : un axe joignant le centre-bourg au cimetière, un boulodrome à l’Est…
L’attention se porte sur les ressources qu’il mobilise : des murs en pierre locale, une charpente en bois et une isolation en liège.
Le projet accueille ses usagers à l’Est, face au Boulodrome, et s’ouvre largement au Sud sur un espace public créé complétant celui existant et répondant à l’évolutivité des usages.
