Radical transformation project of a middle school built in the ‘60s. The project completely rethinks the existing school, working in an integrated way on the architectural and didactic level. In terms of composition, the intervention relates with the existing structure, rethinking the building’s accessibility system and its envelope. The project mainly operates by addition: a new steel structure creates an inhabited envelope where the terraces are an integral part of the teaching program, embraces new connective spaces and works as a passive shield.
Intervento di ristrutturazione radicale di una scuola media costruita negli anni ‘60. Il progetto ripensa completamente la scuola esistente, lavorando in modo integrato sul piano architettonico e didattico. A livello compositivo il progetto si confronta dialogicamente con la struttura esistente, ripensa il sistema di accessibilità dell’edificio e ne ridisegna l’involucro. L’intervento lavora principalemente per addizione, attraverso l’aggiunta di strutture in acciaio che costituiscono i nuovi fronti, spazi per le attività didattiche all’aperto e sistemi di schermatura passiva.
